About Islamic prayer times
Muslims pray five times a day at specific times determined by the position of the sun. Fajr (pre-dawn), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset), and Isha (night) — each prayer has a defined window that shifts daily as the sun's position changes with the seasons.
How prayer times are calculated
Our calculator uses the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) method, the standard for North American Muslim communities. Fajr begins at 15° below the horizon before sunrise, and Isha begins at 15° after sunset. All times are computed locally in your browser using your city's exact coordinates, so you always see accurate, real-time data.
Qibla direction
Each city page includes the Qibla direction — the bearing toward the Kaaba in Mecca. This is calculated using the great-circle method based on your city's coordinates, which gives the shortest path on Earth's surface.
