Frequently asked questions
How long to cook pasta al dente?
Most dried pasta takes 8-12 minutes in salted boiling water. Our timer is set to 10 minutes — a good default for spaghetti and penne. Check the package for exact times, as shapes vary. Start testing 2 minutes before the timer ends.
What temperature for baked chicken?
Bake chicken breast at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes. The internal temperature must reach 165°F (74°C) for food safety. Use a meat thermometer for the most reliable results.
How do I know when salmon is done?
Bake salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) and the flesh should flake easily with a fork. A slightly translucent center is safe and preferred by many.
