About Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of advancing clocks by one hour during warmer months so that darkness falls at a later clock time. In the United States, DST begins on the second Sunday of March (spring forward) and ends on the first Sunday of November (fall back).

Most US states observe DST, with the notable exceptions of Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii. Several states have passed legislation to adopt permanent DST, but federal approval is required for any change to take effect. The Sunshine Protection Act has been introduced in Congress multiple times but has not yet been signed into law.
