Does the days-between calculation include both start and end dates?
By default it returns the number of full days between dates — start date is day 0, end date is day N. To include both endpoints (some legal contexts), add 1 to the result. Always check your specific contract or regulation for the exact counting convention required.
How are leap years handled in days-between?
The calculator counts each calendar day individually, so leap years are automatically included whenever the date range spans February 29. A range from January 1 to December 31, 2024 returns 365 days; the same range in 2024 (a leap year, but actually 365 days because December 31 is not the leap day) is also 365 days, but Feb 29 is included if the range spans it.
Can I see the result in weeks, months, or years?
Yes. The output also shows weeks (days÷7), approximate months (days÷30.44), and approximate years (days÷365.25). Months and years are approximations because calendar months and years have variable lengths; for exact full-year or full-month counts, see the Years/Months Between calculator.
What is the maximum date range supported?
The calculator supports any two dates from year 0001 to year 9999. JavaScript's Date object handles this range natively. For dates before year 0001 (BCE), use specialized historical date calculators.
